MODEL HISTORY

Unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2019, the Ferrari F8 Tributo represented the culmination of more than four decades of development in Maranello’s mid-engined V8 Berlinetta lineage. Succeeding the 488 GTB, it combined the celebrated engine technology of the 488 Pista with an entirely reworked aerodynamic package, creating one of the most accomplished expressions of Ferrari’s traditional two-seat, mid-engined formula.

Its name, Tributo, was chosen in recognition of Ferrari’s extraordinary eight-cylinder heritage, particularly the award-winning 3.9-litre twin-turbocharged V8. Developing 720 PS, the F8 matched the output of the more specialised 488 Pista while offering a broader range of usability and refinement. The engine itself had received the International Engine of the Year award in three consecutive years, from 2016 to 2018, underlining the significance of this particular chapter in Ferrari’s engineering history.

The design also paid deliberate homage to some of Maranello’s most recognisable creations. The louvred Lexan rear screen recalls the legendary F40, while the return of four circular rear lights references earlier V8 Berlinettas, including the 308 GTB. At the front, the prominent S-Duct draws upon aerodynamic developments pioneered with the 488 Pista, contributing to a ten per cent improvement in aerodynamic efficiency over the outgoing 488 GTB.

With the arrival of the hybrid-powered 296 GTB, the F8 Tributo has taken on a particular significance as one of the final chapters in Ferrari’s purely combustion-powered, mid-engined V8 Berlinetta lineage.

EXTERIOR

Giallo Triplo Strato is a wonderful choice for the F8 Tributo, its rich, triple-layer yellow finish bringing the sculpted bodywork and dramatic proportions to life. The sharp front S-Duct, sweeping side intakes and muscular rear haunches give the car an unmistakable presence, complemented by Scuderia Ferrari wing shields and contrasting black aerodynamic detailing.

At the rear, the louvred Lexan engine cover takes inspiration from the legendary F40, while the integrated spoiler and four circular taillights pay tribute to Ferrari’s V8 heritage. The twin exhaust outlets and substantial rear diffuser complete a design that feels both modern and unmistakably Italian.

The bodywork presents beautifully, with a deep, glossy finish that really allows the Giallo Triplo Strato paintwork to shine. Full-body paint protection film provides an additional layer of protection, helping preserve the car’s excellent appearance.

INTERIOR

The F8’s cabin is a wonderful contrast to its vibrant exterior, with Nero Alcantara covering the carbon-fibre racing seats, dashboard and central tunnel. What really sets this example apart is the Giallo detailing, with yellow leather accents running through the seats and matching stitching throughout.

The embroidered Prancing Horse headrests and carbon-fibre steering wheel with LED shift lights complete a cockpit that feels every inch a Ferrari, while the Premium Hi-Fi system adds a welcome touch of comfort.

The interior presents in excellent condition, with the Alcantara upholstery, sculpted racing seats and leather detailing all showing beautifully. The combination of rich materials and carefully chosen yellow accents gives the cabin a distinctive character without feeling overdone.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION

Beneath the louvred rear screen sits Ferrari’s exceptional 3.9-litre twin-turbocharged V8, developed from the formidable 488 Pista and producing 710 bhp. Capable of reaching 62 mph in just 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 211 mph, the F8 offers breathtaking performance, with instant throttle response and an exhilarating surge of power throughout the rev range. The seven-speed F1 dual-clutch gearbox delivers lightning-fast changes, making the car as rewarding on a winding road as it is effortlessly capable on longer journeys.

Lifting the engine cover reveals a beautifully presented engine bay, with the signature red Ferrari intake plenums surrounded by extensive factory-option carbon-fibre detailing. The exposed weave provides a wonderful contrast against the red engine covers, giving the F8’s mechanical heart a sense of occasion even when standing still.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES

The F8’s optional 20-inch forged alloy wheels look particularly good against the Giallo Triplo Strato paintwork, with their satin black centres and diamond-cut edges adding a subtle contrast. All four remain in excellent condition, with no notable marks or scuffs, and are fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tyres that are equally well presented.

Behind the five-spoke alloys sit Ferrari’s carbon-ceramic brakes with gloss black callipers, providing exceptional stopping power to complement the car’s impressive performance.
