The Porsche 911 GT3 is a high performance version of the Porsche 911 sports car primarily intended for racing. The GT3 is named after the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) Group GT3 class it was designed to compete in.
A number of variations, designed for road and track duty, have been introduced since its launch in 1999 and the GT3 has had a successful racing career in the one-make national Porsche Carrera Cup series, and the international Porsche Supercup. It has won championship and endurance races, including the GT class of the American Le Mans Series seven times, first overall in the 24 Hours of Daytona, and first overall at the 24 Hours Nürburgring six times.
In February 2006, Porsche revealed the first generation 997 GT3, commonly now known as the 997.1 GT3 or Gen 1.
In addition to a new 415 hp 3.6 litre flat-six engine, the vehicle featured “zero lift” aerodynamics, meaning the car creates only aerodynamic downforce and no grip-diminishing “lift” upwards and away from the road surface.
The vehicle made use of a modified, track oriented version of Porsche’s active PASM suspension making it the first of Porsche’s GT3 versions to feature an electronically adjustable suspension system.
Porsche crest embossed in headrests, Red seat belts, Wheels painted in black, Black-faced dials inc Sport Chrono, Headlamp washer, Seat heating, Cruise control, Top tinted windscreen, Xenon headlights, PCM 2 with Navigation, Sound Package.
Finished in a classic and stunning shade of Carrara White, this GT3 has been pampered by its fastidious owner and as such presents extremely well. The paint work is pristine and drapes over the wide arches and aerodynamic lines of this race bred Porsche perfectly.
The vulnerable front splitter is in excellent condition with trim and badges all in superb condition showing minimal wear over its life.
The interior of this comfort spec GT3 is a balance of race car tech with styling comforts, blending an extreme drivers car for predominant use on the road. Hard backed sports seats are trimmed in soft black leather neatly stitched with alcantara inserts. The luxurious and beautifully crafted leather interior extends across the cabin to include the much of the dashboard, door cards and centre console. Alcantara covers the steering wheel, gear knob and handbrake lever promoting the GT3 designation and beginnings.
